Arilas Holidays

Holidays in Arilas – Small west coast beach resort
Arilas is at the northern end of the west coast of Corfu, just over a mile from Aghios Stefanos and 32 miles from Corfu Town and the airport. Holidays here are centred on a small attractive resort reached by a road twisting down from a lush valley. The town is popular with families and couples looking for a small modest resort with the emphasis on beach relaxation with the occasional trip into the surrounding countryside. Arilas resort has a certain quiet and sheltered feel, this being the furthest north of the west coast Corfu destinations.

Arilas Holidays – Sandy safe beaches

The beach in Arilas is pleasantly set in a bay between headlands and cliffs. It offers good safe swimming as the water is very shallow and the beach is mostly golden sand. Visitors to the area can enjoy several neighbouring beaches within walking distance like Aghios Stefanos beach to the north, over a mile long and offering both shallow, flashing blue water, safe for children and a broad stretch of golden soft sand . The pebbly Afionas beach is close to Arilas beach, just on the other side of a small stream. Aghios Georgios, which boasts a sweeping golden bay between headlands, is a longer walk to the south.

Holidays to Arilas – Walks, horse riding and some relaxed nightlife

Stables in Arilas offer horse riding lessons and trips into the pleasant surrounding agricultural countryside. Windsurfing, sailing and waterskiing are other Arilas activities, though this resort really invites the simple pleasures of beach and taverna. Nightlife is restricted to a selection of tavernas and a few bars and a club. Visitors to Arilas could explore the countryside and cliffs on foot, visit the Byzantine monastery of Paleokastritsa and visit islands like Paxos and Kefalonia by boat. Buses run to Corfu Town and Aghios Stefanos.
