Ari Atoll Weather

Sitting amidst an immense oval lagoon Ari Atoll is as inviting as any of the Maldivian islands. Blessed with year round high temperatures and high levels of sunshine this is as close to the tropical desert island experience as it gets. The temperature in Ari Atoll fluctuates very little throughout the year with the only difference appearing in the amount of rainfall. December to April is considered the high season when very little rain will fall and the humidity levels are low. Temperatures throughout the year will rarely fall below 30C, and the hot sun will be shining for around eight hours per day during the high season.

 

Although Ari Atoll does have a high season there is no real off season in the Maldives. May to November is considered the monsoon season and there is a chance of rain at this time of the year, with the exception of August. However, temperatures will still be over 30C and rainfall can be over in a matter of minutes. Swimming and diving are all year round sports in the Maldives and the Indian Ocean temperature varies very little from the air temperature. April through June will bring the highest temperatures in Ari Atoll and the humidity levels may be uncomfortable for some holiday makers.

Christmas and New Year holidays in Ari Atoll in the sunshine are the perfect way to beat the chilly British winters. During the winter months the temperatures will head over the 30C mark. There is less rain at this time of the year and the weather is hot but never excessively so. Evening temperatures will also be warm at around 25C and light clothing will be all that is required. The climate in Ari Atoll will be ideal for long days spent on unspoilt white sand beaches and evenings watching the spectacular sunsets.
