Sitting in a sheltered horseshoe-shaped bay, the soft golden sands of the beach stretch for 600m, and are backed by picturesque cliffs. Sloping gently into the clear waters, the beach at Arenal d’en Castell provides great conditions for swimming and paddling, and a fantastic base for sunbathing, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. Like all beaches in Menorca, a flag system is in evidence, with the green flag signifying safe swimming conditions. Watersports are available in Arenal d’en Castell, and there are convenient bars and cafes on the beach. A wide range of hotels and apartments are available in Arenal d’en Castell, and the small centre offers supermarkets and shops selling all the essential holiday items.
Holidays in Arenal d’en Castell – Close to Mahon The nightlife in Arenal d’en Castell is fairly low-key and relaxed, mainly catering to the British families, with whom the resort is a firm favourite. Most of the entertainment in the resort is hotel based, with a handful of bars staying open late, and the resort offers a good choice of restaurants, ranging from English and Chinese, to traditional Spanish. A car is recommended to explore the rugged north coast, and the city of Mahon, with its’ attractive harbour, great shopping and delicious traditional restaurants, is just 20 km away.
