General Things To Do Weather

Beach
Playa de Palma is the main beach, and this Blue Flag stretch of golden sand offers plenty of relaxation and entertainment for visitors, as well as gently shelving into the sea, meaning safe swimming conditions for families and children. There are plenty of umbrellas and sun-loungers, and numerous convenient beach kiosks called 'balnearis'. For quieter sunbathing, head to one of the smaller coves along the coastline.

Promenade
A flat wide pedestrian promenade lined with hotels, shops, bars and restaurants runs along the waterfront, linking Arenal with C'an Pastilla, with a convenient mini-train travelling between the two resorts.

Water Sports & Boat Trips
Water sports available in the area include pedalos, windsurfing, waterskiing and scuba diving, and there is a sailing club in the resort. Island tours depart from Arenal, and boat trips around the Bay of Palma are popular day trips.

Sports
Hotels and apartments have swimming pools and tennis courts for guests, and beach volleyball is played on the beach. There are local golf courses close by, and the resort is home to a great family attraction and one of the best mini golf courses on the island - Golf Fantasia, offering 54 holes with a Jurassic Park theme.

Bikes & Scooters
Mountain bikes and scooters can be rented and offer a great way to explore the area, and there are many cycle paths and planned routes to follow. Head into the surrounding towns and villages, or ride along the cliff tops for some impressive views.

Water park
One of the biggest attractions in the area is the resort's water park. 'Aqualand el Arenal' is the largest in Majorca, and boasts 20 water attractions, including three children's areas and a choice of fast-paced rides and slides.

Day trips
The city of Palma, in Majorca, lies just 15 minutes away and is home to bustling streets, shops and restaurants, a Gothic Cathedral and an Aquarium. C'an Pastilla is a quieter beach resort, with an attractive marina, and excursions to the island of Formentor are available.

Entertainment
The busy resort of Arenal boasts a lively scene and is a popular destination for young holiday-makers, thanks to its non-stop entertainment options. There are a host of bars and clubs, from English pubs to karaoke bars, and dining options range from traditional tapas bars to fast-food and British-style fare.
