Weather in Alhaurin - Mountain town inland on the Costa del Sol 

The resort of Alhaurin lies at the foot of the Mijas Mountains in the Guadalhorce valley in southern Spain. Situated on the Costa del Sol, this country town enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild winters, and sees plenty of sunshine throughout the year. The average annual temperature in Alhaurin is 19C.  

 

Spring sees warm temperatures of between 17C and 20C, and, with up to 9 hours of sunshine each day, conditions are excellent for golf, walking holidays and sightseeing tours. The temperature heats up in June, rising to 25C, and during the peak season months of July and August reaches an average of 27C - 28C, sometimes rising to over 30C. The popular beaches of the Costa del Sol are easily reached from Alhaurin, with the coastal breezes helping to cool down the high temperatures. In Alhaurin, light winds do blow from the north and the west, but in general the town is sheltered from the colder north winds by the mountains. Summers are dry in Alhaurin, with July and August seeing very limited rainfall.

 

Winters are generally mild in Alhaurin, with January and February being the coolest months, seeing an average temperature of 11C. The sun still shines up to 5-6 hours each day, creating ideal conditions for a winter golfing holiday. The period between November and February sees the most precipitation, with November being the wettest in Alhaurin, receiving 85mm of rain.
