Our review of Alcudia...
A friendly and purpose-built family resort on the charming north coast of Majorca. Not for the party-crowd, Alcudia holidays focus on the 8km stretch of sandy white beach, which curves around a bay with shallow warm waters - the perfect spot for sandcastles with the kids, exhilarating water sports or lazy sunbathing in the hot Mediterranean sun. Now a popular tourist spot, the resort retains its relaxed atmosphere yet offers plenty to do during the summer season, with a host of hotels, bars and restaurants and many activities for the whole family. Located in the quieter part of the island, Alcudia is ideally placed to explore the mountainous north west, with its scenic hiking trails and traditional towns and villages and to visit.

"We have mainly stayed in the south of Majorca, which is livelier and more commercial, I think, but this year we were ready for somewhere a little quieter and a bit different. There is some nightlife in Alcudia, and we found some good bars, but generally was more relaxing. We hired a car and saw some of the countryside, which is so beautiful, and took the boat over to Formentor - really pretty."

"Really nice part of the island to stay in, we loved the beach - we'd definitely go back. The old town is really interesting, well worth a visit, as is the lovely little town of Pollensa with its local market - you see the real Spain. Plus we had a great day out in Palma, lots to see and great people-watching in the cafes."

"I think Alcudia in North Majorca is a brilliant resort for families with children. We spent every day on the beach, which is sandy and safe for swimming, and our hotel (very clean )was just a short walk. Lots of family entertainment, and we found some great restaurants in the harbour which did wonderful fresh seafood. A very convenient and relaxing holiday."
