Wednesday, 02 January 2008

Berlin city breaksAir Berlin is to commence a series of new long haul services to both Shanghai and Beijing from May 2008. UK passengers will be able to take advantage of cheap flights from London Stansted via Air Berlin's hub in Düsseldorf. Air Berlin, founded in 1978, is Europe’s third largest low-cost carrier behind easyJet and Ryanair, serving seven 7 direct London Stansted routes to Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Munich, Munster, Nuremberg and Paderborn.

Air Berlin Manager for the UK and Ireland Titus Johnson said: "Air Berlin has clearly created its own segment in the market by offering a full quality service at lower fares. It is encouraging that consumers and travel professionals alike have awarded and commended Air Berlin for these excellent service levels. We look forward to offering the same award-winning service on our new long-haul network from the UK in 2008".

Air Berlin currently carries over 20 million passengers a year with cheap flights starting from £24 one-way, including tax.
