Located in a sheltered bay, Aghios Gordios beach is known as one of the most picturesque on Corfu. The golden sands stretch for around 1.5Km and shelve gently into the warm waters of the Ionian Sea. The surrounding olive covered mountains make this west coast beach a natural sun trap and there is even a private beach for those who like to sun bathe as nature intended.

Water Sports

With summer temperatures heading over the 30C mark the Ionian Sea is the perfect place to cool down. Water sports in Aghios Gordios can include parasailing, windsurfing, boating and of course the famous banana boats. There is a diving school located near the beach for those wish to venture beneath the waves.

Sightseeing

Sightseeing in Aghios Gordios can include some fantastic walks around the west coast of Corfu. Nearby traditional villages include the charming Garouna village and ancient Sinarades where holiday makers can mix with the locals and visit the enchanting Local Folklore Museum. Corfu Town itself is a mere 12Km from Aghios Gordios and offers the best dining, shopping, and nightlife options on the island.

Golf

There is a little known but beautiful 18-hole golf course located only 10 minutes north from Aghios Gordios. Designed by Donald Harradine the course includes numerous lakes and streams. Thanks to the sunny climate, a round of golf here is accessible at anytime of the day or evening.

Nightlife

The nightlife in Aghios Gordios can include dinners in the bars and taverns by the beach as the sun sets over the sea. Chinese and Mexican restaurants are available and of course there are traditional Greek restaurants. Alternatively catch a 10 minute taxi ride into Corfu Town for a lively night out with dancing into the small hours of the morning.
