Village
The picturesque fishing village has a romantic hillside location, and numerous bars, cafes and tavernas in which to relax each day, especially in and around the harbour, where visitors can enjoy the spectacular views out across the sea.
 
Beaches
There's a sand and shingle beach at Aghia Galini with plenty of facilities, and a host of other smaller coves and bays to explore along the south coast. Other popular beaches in the area include Matala, Kalamaki and Kommos.
 
Water Sports
Plenty of water sports are available for the enthusiast, including jet-skiing, banana boat rides, pedalos, ringos, windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and paragliding.  
 
Boat Trips
Fishing excursions are popular, taking passengers out to quiet beaches, and there are departures to the many caves hidden in the cliffs, as well as to the Paximadia Islands opposite the resort.
 
Walking & Hiking
Ideal terrain for avid walkers, with many mule tracks and paths leading through the agricultural farmland and hillsides full of olive groves, fruit trees and vineyards, and a number of established routes to follow.
 
Historical Sights
Places of interest to visit include the archaeological site of Phaistos, as well as Agia Triada, and the Mesara Plain, one of the earliest settlements in Greece

Thanks to the resort's central location on the island, Agia Galini is an ideal base for exploring Crete and her sights, with famous attractions such as Spili, the Samaria Gorge, Rethymnon, Knossos, Heraklion and Chania well within reach.
