Adele Holidays
Adele Holidays – Small traditional hill village on the north coast
Adele is a small village in traditional style on the north coast of Crete just 5 miles east of the historic town of Rethymnon. Adele is between Heraklion and Chania airports, about 45 miles from each. The village makes a good base if you are looking for somewhere very quiet from which to enjoy north coast beaches and explore inland. Adele will suit those looking for a typical Crete village with whitewashed houses and narrow streets where people still work in agriculture and gather in the local café and taverna. Those on a trip here can experience Crete hospitality and the traditions of Crete village life and at the same time be close to busy historic Rethymnon, the third largest town on Crete.
Adele Holidays – For small village peace and charm
Adele is just 5 miles east of the interesting historic town of Rethymnon. The village climbs up the hill from the coastal plain and the road continues inland through beautiful Crete countryside to Arkadi monastery. Adele holidays are centred on what still remains a very small village with narrow lanes, bright white houses and picturesque flower-decked patios. Adele has all the features of a typical Crete village, from its church to its peaceful and characterful cafes and tavernas. Shops offer the basics.
Holidays in Adele –Crete villages, beaches and Rethymnon too
Adele is built on a hill rising from the coast and has some excellent views. At least two different walks lead down to the nearest beach which is over a mile long and good for swimming, watersports and peaceful sunbathing. Visitors could explore the simple charms and local tavernas of neighbouring picturesque villages with their flowers and twisting alleys; a world away from the hectic scene of the big resorts. A favourite walk here is through olive groves and farmland to the neighbouring village of Agia Paraskevi. This is not a place for nightlife and shopping sprees but Adele holidays can easily enjoy all the facilities on hand at Rethymnon, the atmospheric third largest town of Crete; a charming and picturesque town full of fountains, archways, colourful balconies, romantic tavernas, and a great selection of cafes and Venetian and Turkish architecture. Rethymnon has lively nights and a really superb long beach and is just 5 miles from Adele.
