Acoteias Weather
Situated on the Algarve, Acoteias enjoys a Mediterranean-type climate with glorious summers and mild winters. The weather in Acoteias is particularly dependable with over 300 hundred days of sun each year and two substantial mountain ranges to protect it from cold air from the north. Although the temperature climbs towards 30ºC in high summer, there is a reliable sea breeze blowing in off the Atlantic to keep things comfortable. This virtually guaranteed sunshine without extremes of temperature makes Acoteias a favourite destination for anyone looking for a relaxed beach holiday.
Acoteias Weather – Perfect summers For an Algarve beach holiday
Daily average temperatures in Acoteias in July and August reach 28ºC and, with just 1mm of rain falling for each of these two months, there is little chance of wet days spoiling a holiday. The Atlantic coast and the pleasant breezes do help keep humidity down as well as ensuring that this area rarely gets the extremely hot weather found in southern Spain, although it can still reach the high 30s in August. Sea temperatures, although not as warm as the Mediterranean, reach a very pleasant 22ºC alongside Acoteias’ perfect golden beach, Praia de Falesia. There are lifeguards on Portuguese beaches during the main holiday season from June to mid-September.
