Weather In Acoteias
Situated on the Algarve, Acoteias enjoys a Mediterranean-type climate with glorious summers and mild winters. The weather in Acoteias is particularly dependable with over 300 hundred days of sun each year and two substantial mountain ranges to protect it from cold air from the north. Although the temperature climbs towards 30ºC in high summer, there is a reliable sea breeze blowing in off the Atlantic to keep things comfortable. This virtually guaranteed sunshine without extremes of temperature makes Acoteias a favourite destination for anyone looking for a relaxed beach holiday. Acoteias Weather – Perfect summers For an Algarve beach holiday Weather In Acoteias – colourful springs, warm autumns and mild winters
It’s as though winter never comes to Acoteias. The coldest month is January and the average temperature still climbs to 15ºC then, while the surrounding hills are covered in white almond blossom. A month or two later the whole area comes alive as orange trees and thousands of plants that thrive in the Algarve microclimate come into bloom. It’s hardly surprising that spring is a popular time to visit for golf or activity holidays, or just to see the colour. March is the wettest month, however, but there is still plenty of sunshine, and the rainfall is only half as much by April. For beach holidays September is a good time to visit, as the crowds will have thinned out and the temperature will still be around 26ºC with very little rain.
