Acoteias Holidays - A pretty scenic village
Acoteias, located in the central part of the Algarve, is a pretty scenic village, ideal for a peaceful relaxing holiday, with access to one of the best beaches in the region. Situated a few kilometers inland, the village has retained a traditional feel, yet offers plenty of convenient tourist amenities, with most of the accommodation positioned close to the coast and the wonderful sandy beach of Praia de Falesia.
Holidays in Acoteias – Boasting the longest beach in the Algarve
The beach at Praia de Falesia is just 10 minutes from the village of Acoteias. The longest beach in the Algarve, Falesia stretches for 6km along the coastline and runs from Quarteira to Olhos d’Agua, and, because of its’ size, never seems to be too crowded. Accessed by a scenic drive through pine trees, the Blue Flag awarded beach is reached by a series of steep steps and backed by stunning red tinged sandstone cliffs. Thatched wooden umbrellas line the beach, and facilities include a childrens’ playground and various beach bars. Acoteias is home to a variety of accommodation options, ranging from self-catering to hotels, and the main road is lined with a selection of shops, local bars and traditional Portuguese restaurants.
Holidays in Acoteias – Lazy days and relaxing evenings
With low-key nightlife and lazy days spent on the beach, Acoteias is ideal for those in search of a relaxing holiday. The lively resort of Albufeira is just a few kilometers away, and offers a much busier, brasher scene, with plenty of all-night bars and clubs. Whilst holidaying in Acoteias, the beach offers a wide selection of watersports, and other activities to enjoy in the surrounding areas include sailing, diving, fishing, tennis, cycling, walking and, of course, golf. The excellent golfing centre of Vilamoura is just 10 minutes away, and a car is recommended, to travel to the other outstanding courses of the Algarve. The coastal resort of Olhos d’Agua is close by and worth a trip for its’ great selection of fabulous seafood restaurants.
