A Holiday Somewhere Hot?
Many people contact directline holidays each week wanting to go "somewhere hot on holiday". Often they don’t know where, and many claim they don’t care where they go. Generally speaking the northern hemisphere is hot during our summer and the further south toward the equator the hotter it gets. At the start of the summer season the southern Mediterranean facing countries such Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt all start to get warm in the early spring soon followed by Greece and the Greek Island, Cyprus, Turkey, Sicily, Sardinia, Malta and the resorts on the Costa del Sol. While the days are warm and increasingly sunny the evenings may occasionally be a little chilly. August bank holiday weekend is the most popular time of the year to holiday abroad. This popularity means that cheap holiday deals are rare and availabilty and choice may be limited.
Where is hot to go on holiday in the winter?
To find a hot holiday destination in the winter requires a longer flight. The Indian Ocean offers glorious sunshine and high daytime temperatures and this is the time to visit Goa, Kerala, Sri Lanka as these destinations only operate during the UK winter. The Maldives, Mauritius, The Sychelles and Bangkok are usually hot and available all year but each has a rainy season.
Where is hot to go on holiday now?
Some resorts are hot, or at least pleasantly warm all year round. Holidays to Sharm el Sheikh and the other resorts of the red sea are increasingly popular and Florida in the USA and the islands of the Caribbean like Cuba, Dominican Republic and Margarita Island all draw a large number of tourist from Britain. One of the best year round choices is the Canary Islands which are hot in summer and at usually warm in the winter. Holidays to Tenerife, Lanzarote Gran Canaria and Fueteventura operate all year.
